I'm starting this Go Fund Me to help my sister Mary get on her feet. I'm in Wisconsin and she is in Nebraska and it's hard for me to figure out a way to help her get on her feet, keep her fed, keep her in her apartment and electricity paid. The amount of hospital bills over the past 2 months is unimaginable to me. Mary does receive disability of under $1000 per month and has Medicare. She receives $38 a month in food stamps. In order to help pay for her bills she will need to apply for Medicaid which will decrease the amount of disability she gets by $400 to $500 per month. Living off of $400 per month is absolutely not possible.
On October 31st she was admitted to the hospital with septic shock, internal bleeding and blood clots in her lungs. I was told I should head to Nebraska as it was a very slim chance she would make it through the night. It has now been almost two months. In those 2 months she has endured 3 surgeries (the pacemaker removal was life saving), abscesses on her spine and in her shoulder. IF all goes well she will move from the rehabilitation center to her home on December 28th. We pray for no other infections that may delay her going home.
Once Mary has fully recovered she will have two more surgeries. One to put in another pacemaker and one to repair a rotator cuff (found only through the surgery to remove the infection).
If you are in Lincoln and can even send her a meal that would be great. Please contact me through Face Book to arrange a meal for her. Unfortunately, 2 weeks prior to her getting sick someone removed the catalytic converter from her vehicle. She now is left with a vehicle that is unusable.
I have NEVER asked for help for my family. I as a single mom and can only do so much for her which breaks my heart. Unfortunately Mary doesn't have much family left to rely on.
I have struggled with doing something like this but I need to put my embarrassment aside and ask for any help that can be given. Even a prayer that God guide Mary in the direction He wants her to go. She is a Survivor and is worthy of His Love.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any help you can give to Mary.
