Psalm 91: 2
I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress: My GOD: In him I will trust.
My mother, Diane, passed away this past Thursday, January 8th at the age of 57. Fortunate enough for her she passed away in her sleep, peacefully and with all of her children around. She had spent half of her life fighting strong against a disability she incurred in her twenties. Mom began suffering from a Mental Illness and Diagnosed with Fibromyalga after our father passed away in 1988. It is particularly challenging raising a family of 4 as a single Mother, but with any physical challenges its even more Phenomonal.
On April 2, 1988, Our Mother became so ill at the time, that she lost having my brother and I under her care. We were sent to foster care for 9 years until our foster parents received the call that My Mother had petition the courts for a fair hearing to retrive her children. She told me that she would cry every night about losing her kids and husband at the same time but her church "The Livng Waters Church" helped her. Members would literally team up and ride down to the Courthouse, like protesters do, and they would speak on Mom's behalf. They would not let anyone discriminate against my Mother due to her disabilty and that makes me cry! That was LOVE*
And Guess What? SHE DID IT**** We Moved back into Mom's Beautiful Home in 1997!
Let Me Tell You A Little About Diane Hoggs-Vance,
She was Sooooo.... Beautiful, from her spirit to her patient attitude with everyone she met. Our Mother was so annointed and filled with an undeniable spirit that sometimes our friends wanted to be around her more then her kids. (That makes me SMILE :)
She would always open her doors to anyone that needed help or a safe place to have a meal. Our Mom would call that her "Ministry" and a way to save people from having to do things that were unpleasant. She worked so hard to do the right thing and that even meant giving her last to someone else.
For example, My Mom would come out the store from grocery shopping and if there was a homeless individual waiting at the door to ask for help. She would tell me to wait for her, as she went to retrieve more food to give to that individual.
And Boy, She was also very fun to be around and kept everyone cracking up!!!!! She just always said what was on her mind but in a loving matter!
But Towards the last few years of her life, her body did begin to change more and more. She then needed a wheelchair or walking cain to get around.
Today, WE ask all of our Close Family, Friends, Co-Workers, Union Members, and Church to please help us bury our Mother on January 21, 2015 in San Jose, CA. and help us cover her outside funeral cost, mortgage expenses, food at funeral, her outstanding medical bills left, and lastly her children completing college and advance degrees.
We are her surviving kin, Her Daughter April Vance, Son Rashaun Vance, And Youngest Daughter Vivian Brooks.
WE LOVE YOU MOM and WE CONTINUE YOUR LEGACY!
Thank You Everyone!
