Fire Victims: Rebuilding a Home

Donation protected
The fire happened just a few days after New Years. Victims of the fire were my mother, father, sister, brother-in-law, and two nieces and nephew. My parents are refugees of the POL POT War and have been traumatized numerous times with the threat of losing their lives. One of the greatest blessings since then was being able to acquire their home. Here they slowly recovered and began buidling their lives

Though my parents has very little, they made it their lifes work to support their children, extended family, as well as any others who needed help. My sister and her husband stayed in the home after he was discharged from the military and together they survived. Now two generations of my family has been destroyed by this turmoil. They have lost everything from the fire.

If that wasn't bad enough, during the Christmas holiday, my parents were supposed to purchase home owners insurance, but did not get a chance to in the midst of helping my aunt that had abdominal surgery, and my ill granthmother of 85 years of age. And then just a few days later

, the house burned down.

On the day of the fire, my sister and her children just returned home from caring for our elderly grandmother. There was smoke coming from the basement. My sister quickly called 911, and grabbed everyone and ran out of the house. Within 3-5 minutes, the whole house was engulfed in flames. The children were standing by in their shorts and pajamas in the freezing weather of Philadelphia as they watched their lives slowly turn to ash.

They are now homeless, and looking to rebuild their home. To begin, the hole in the roof made by fire fighther must be sealed, electrical wiring replaced, as well as all windows. If we can help them complete this, they would at least have a home to go to.This is the one piece of hope they can hold on to to bring their lives back to normal after this tragedy. With the support of everyone, I am sure we can help them regain their lives. All efforts are much appreciated. Every penny counts! Please share as well.

Thanks to all, and with much hope,
Thea
