On 21st September, 2025 I’m running the Moy Park Belfast City Half Marathon in memory of my sister-in-law Micheala McVeigh who sadly passed away on 25th August 2024, 4 days after her 39th birthday. I will be raising money to benefit Lilac Cancer Support Ltd in Micheala's memory and a way to mark what would also have been her 40th birthday. Any donation will help make an impact.
In August 2023, we received the devastating news that Micheala was diagnosed with Glioblastoma - a grade 4 aggressive brain tumour with a very limited life expectancy.
Micheala underwent brain surgery along with numerous rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. During this time Micheala availed of a range of complementary therapies such as massage and reflexology to help alleviate the emotions and symptoms of her diagnosis. All therapies were received locally in Coalisland making it easier for Micheala to partake. The volunteers at Lilac offered great comfort to Micheala and the family during this difficult time.
Lilac Cancer Support is a small charity making an enormous impact on Health & Wellbeing in The Mid Ulster Area and providing services to those affected by cancer.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me and the family.
