This GoFundMe has been created by a small number of close friends who are hoping to reach a larger number of friends. Our dear Ally (Arlene) is in need and we want to help her. Friends and family know most of the struggles Ally has faced over the years and yet she continues to trod along as a constant survivor. Through the many surgical procedures, she still struggles to get a foothold in life and needs some help. She won't ask you herself, so we are doing it for her.

In the immediate moment, she needs new prescription glasses. We are able to get a small discount on a nice pair of glasses for her but the entire costs for the exam and glasses will reach upwards of $600 - $800 and her health insurance doesn't cover most of it. She drives herself to doctor appointments and is beginning to have difficulties seeing clearly without updated lenses. And, speaking of driving, she is having to drive around in this South Florida heat in a car she has had for a long time and the air conditioner is no longer working. If anyone is a mechanic and knowledgeable with fixing a/c's , please let us know. Otherwise, we have no idea what the total bill is going to be but we do know it is not something simple (all the easy routes were attempted already - filter, freon, etc..).

Ally has been experiencing dental pain and is in need of some costly repair work. This will likely be up in the thousands of dollars.

And, if that wasn't enough, she is having problems with the water heater in her condo.

Ally has spent the majority of her life in service to several different communities. She is the first one to volunteer to help whether it means bring food, sell tickets, clean, set up, market.... she has done it all and has never asked for anything in return. Even when someone repays her with a "thank you", she immediately pays them again with her smile.

There have been so many people who have benefitted from her kindness and caring nature. Please consider helping out with whatever you are able to give and please share this with those in your contact lists, email lists, friends list.... you get the idea. :)

We set the goal for $4000 but, she will benefit from that and more. All of the money is going directly to Ally and not through anyone else first. She will allocate the donations towards an order of importance. We are hoping to raise enough to wipe away all of her stress and help make Ally's life a little better. She deserves it.
