LITTLE ANNIE'S ORPHANS
My amazing sister, Terri Anne (“Annie”), now has full-time custody of her recently orphaned grandsons, my grandnephews, who have suffered great personal loss these past few months. Because you are someone who cares, I want to ask you if you'd consider joining us in helping to make their future brighter.
This past summer, Annie’s thirty-five year old daughter Jenny, the mother of Eric (14) and Jace (12) died suddenly from coronary heart disease and complications arising from diabetes. As if the loss of a mother isn't terrible enough, on New Year’s Day 2015, Eric’s and Jace’s dad died from severe stab wounds he received just a few days earlier. Now with his murder, the boys are left without parents. What they do have is their recently-widowed devoted loving Nanny, Annie, who is dedicating her life to raising Eric and Jace the best way she can.
Recently, a few of Annie’s life-long friends and I have come up with the wonderful idea of doing a fund raiser for Eric and Jace’s college costs, which is just a few short years ahead. Despite their heartbreak and hardship, both are honor roll students, enjoying athletics, and are outgoing, funny, good boys. My family is pitching in to help with the basic expenses of raising two teenaged boys. Annie is doing her very best with limited means, providing them with a loving, stable environment and positive guidance. These young boys will soon grow to be young men, and a college education would put them on the path to finding opportunities for a brighter future.
We are planning to set up a 529 Plan (Education Trust) for Eric and Jace and will contribute 100% of all of the proceeds we receive from fund raisers like this one. Any gift, large or small will make a big difference and is deeply appreciated! Her friends and I have known Annie her whole life -- she is NOT the type of person to ask for help – even for her grandsons. That’s why we’re doing it for her. So, what do you say? Can you help “Little Annie’s Orphans?”
