I am a 3rd year Music Education Major at Middle Tennessee State University. My goal is to become a high school band director so that I can teach and inspire kids to continue pursuing an education in music.

I have been a huge fan of marching band even before I participated in it. I fell in love with the activity when I joined the 2008 McGavock High School Marching Band my freshman year and I have been a part of the activity ever since, including the MTSU Band of Blue.  In 2009 I was introduced to Drum and Bugle Corps. I was hooked immediately; I talked for hours with any and everyone who knew about it. I really wanted to perform in a Drum Corps, but I allowed finances to stop me from pursuing my dream.... Last year however, with the support of my family and friends I took a leap of faith and auditioned. I am happy to tell you that I received a contract with a World Champion Corps, the Madison Scouts! I toured throughout the country all summer performing in front of tens of thousands of people with some of the finest musicians in the world.

Participating in Drum Corps International is not a promised opportunity. It takes hard work, dedication, and a financial obligation.The tuition is $2,850.  I need your help. I am asking you to please make a tax deductible donation to help me reach my goal.

Participating in the Madison Scouts taught me techniques that I will teach later, discipline, and paying attention to detail.  It also allowed me to meet other students and directors that I may work with in the near future.
