My Father's Final Expenses
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Olivia Olsen. I'm a 21-year old college student and I'm starting this fundraiser with the hopes to fund my father's final expenses and pay for the last two months of rent and bills as my brother and I move out of our apartment. My father, Frank Olsen, had been battling esophageal cancer for the past 3 years, being forced to leave his job as a forklift operator for Coca-Cola. My brother and I have lived with our father for the duration of his treatment, but as of January we became his primary caregivers as he came home from the hospital with hospice care. We were not aware until it was too late, but my father's pension benefits would terminate after his passing, going to no beneficiary. With help from the state, we were able to afford our father's cremation but not a memorial service. With your help, we would be able to give our father the small, personal memorial service he would want as well as afford to move out of our apartment and transition to another family member's home. We are hoping to raise these funds by April 15th 2016, in order to begin planning our father's service as well as paying our rent and bills. Ensuring that our father has a meaningful and respectful service is our major concern. It would not only mean the absolute world to me and my family, but it would take an immense weight off of me and my brother's shoulders, making this difficult time so much more manageable and allowing us to focus on what is most important right now: honoring and celebrating our father's life and coping with our loss.
