Please help me stop foreclosure on my family home!!
** Please know that my mother and grandparents have passed and I grew up in this home. It holds all of the memories of my life and good times with them. It means more than words could possibly express..this house is my heart and soul. Anyone who knows me knows just how much my home means to me and I would never have knowingly done anything to jeopardize going into Foreclosure!
I very humbly ask.....If anyone has the means and could help with this cause...$1...$5.....$100.... know that you would be helping to save not just a home but a lifetime of memories.... :(
Story:
Due to Hurricane Irma, and no solid work for well over a month, I was forced to seek disaster assistance from my mortgage company. They were not much help but did offer a custom Irma Disaster Forbearance Plan for those who were struggling financially from the hurricanes last fall. They promised that there would be a "re-payment plan option" for me once the forbearance plan was completed. I followed everything they required, made the reduced payment each month, and called them monthly and each time they assured me that "I was PROTECTED under the disaster umbrella" and that my home would NOT be foreclosed on! Each time I called they restated this and tried to comfort my concern.
Last week, I received a letter in the mail stating that they were not providing me with a repayment plan of any kind and that a minimum of $7,300 was to be paid by April 30th to STOP FORECLOSURE proceedings. I was completely devastated! This was a horrible thing to do to a person who needed help due to a hurricane and, prior, had never even missed a mortgage payment in 14 years. I feel this is a horrible practice for a mortgage company - to convince someone in need that they would be fine and have a repayment plan so they have nothing to worry about..and then simply stop-short and change their tune.
I have tried a small loan from an institution but do not qualify. :(
I have contacted a lawyer and they stated that, at this point, raising these funds to immediately get my home out of foreclosure status is the BEST option right now since there is a deadline in about a week. As a reminder, I just received the notice in the mail last Thursday. Again, extremely unfair practices!
I know that this is a tight deadline but its all that the mortgage company is providing.
Please help me save my home. I appreciate you more than you know.
