On May 29, I suddenly felt like I was drowning. I called 911 and was taken to the hospital, where they weren’t sure what was going on at first. It turned out to be pneumonia, and things quickly became more complicated. I’ve been in the hospital ever since, and had surgery to remove a large amount of fluid from my lungs. After the surgery I have had to stay in the hospital with tubes into my right lung to drain remaining liquids and ensure that the situation didn't escalate again. Thankfully, that part was successful and now I’m in recovery while doctors continue to monitor my progress.
Since I work freelance, I haven’t been able to earn any income during this time and that’s made things really hard. I’m asking for help to get through the next month or so without the added stress of how I’ll pay for rent, bills, and basic living expenses. Anything you can give truly means the world right now and will help me stay focused on healing.
Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for showing up for me.
With love and gratitude,
