I have had such a great adventure in Rome so far. The architecture is breathtaking, the landscape overwhelming, and the food divine. Thank you yet again for making it all possible. As my trip draws to a close, a group of new friends and I are trying to organize a weekend trip north to Florence to visit Il Duomo and taste the Tuscan cuisine. Any further help to make sure this little quest can hop on a train and get lost in Tuscany would be amazing.
The new photo is me seated on the shore of Lake Gandolfo in the hills by one of the Papal residences. A spectacular day trip
A thousand thank yous to everyone who has helped make this trip possible thus far. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your kindness and support. A fun update on the trip: I have a college friend studying in Aix-en-Provence this summer and she has a friend who is singing Carmen in Sicily in late June. We are hoping to rendezvous for the performance, so it is all magically coming together. Happy Summer everyone, and grazie tutti!
. . . .
I am a bubbly, red headed, nerdy undergraduate at the quirky little liberal arts school, St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I am so lucky to have been offered an opportunity to spend my summer as a true accomplished lady of another time would have, studying on the Continent. I have been accepted to a study abroad program through the Rome Institute of Liberal Arts (RILA) for June 2019 but I am struggling to pay for flights, passport, transportation, and most importantly food for my summer away. I will be studying classical language, philosophy, and art in the hope of building a solid and passionate foundation for future careers in teaching and bringing history to life. Any donation would help, no matter how small, and I am infinitely grateful for your support.
