Our friend Julie Butler and her daughter and grandchild were victims of a house fire. In the blink of an eye, they lost their home and most of their belongings, forced to flee with only the clothes on their backs. This devastating event has left them in a precarious situation, as they navigate the challenges of finding stable housing while caring for a nine-month-old baby. The emotional and physical toll of this experience cannot be understated.

The Red Cross provided them with temporary shelter for one night, but since then, they have been moving from one place to another, seeking a more permanent solution. It’s heart-wrenching to think about the uncertainty they face daily, especially for little Nola-Marie, who deserves a safe and stable environment to grow up in. They are in desperate need of not only housing but also essential supplies to help them rebuild their lives.

Adding to their heartbreak, while they managed to rescue their beloved dog, their cat remains missing, and the worry weighs heavily on their hearts. This family has endured unimaginable losses over the past year, with the passing of Julie’s sister Debbie followed by the loss of her mother the next day. In this time of grief and struggle, they need the love and support of their friends and community more than ever.
