Help Robert Avoid Homelessness

Who would think at this stage in life, one would find oneself approaching the possibility/probability of being homeless?

Being currently unemployed due to a past work injury, waiting to hear from SSI Disability benefits, and finding I'm either overqualified or "too old" for jobs being applied for on an ongoing basis, I've almost exhausted all of my savings with nowhere else to turn. I find myself in the embarrassing position to "ask/beg" for help. A dear friend told me to try this route as there are kind people who still care. So, here I am on bended knee asking if you can find it in your heart to help keep a roof over mine and my kitties' heads, please. You can't begin to know how hard it is for me to humble myself and ask.
