Our dear friends Kaylee and Seth have been in and out of doctors’ offices and hospitals with their beautiful daughter Olivia (3) since she was born. This small but mighty family has been on a journey to find answers. Olivia has had a feeding tube since she was a newborn, along with a list of other therapies over the years, but nothing had seemed to resolve her unknown condition. Last July, Seth and Kaylee were blindsided when Olivia’s genetic test results came back and she was diagnosed with a progressive life threatening condition, Myhre Syndrome. Myhre is a very rare condition and only ~100 cases have ever been documented in medical literature. Myhre Syndrome is a genetic condition that causes fibrosis in all of the connective tissue in the body which can happen spontaneously or from injuries, and can be life threatening. The one thing we do know is that things will only get harder for Olivia as she grows. Olivia is the sweetest little girl and has been such a trooper. Its heartbreakingly beautiful the way this little girl handles all her procedures and sicknesses with a sweet smile on her face. Seth and Kaylee are committed to getting their little girl in front of the best doctors who are studying and treating this rare condition. They will need to bring Olivia to Boston, MA where there’s a team of doctors that see about 45 cases of Myhre Syndrome. The trip to Boston will be more than a one time thing. Children’s Hospital in Colorado has not seen this condition, so they must travel across the country to see doctors and get Olivia the medical help she needs. Seth and Kaylee have had to reduce the amount they can work so they can get Olivia to her endless doctor and therapy appointments. While Olivia is fortunate to have Medicaid for her disability, Medicaid does not cover out of state medical care. Kaylee, Seth and of course little Olivia are three of the kindest people and are surrounded by family and friends who want to help them along in their journey. This family has been so consumed with their new normal and we want to take the financial burden off of them so they can focus on Olivia. Please help us by contributing to Kaylee, Seth and Olivia to help with their travel and medical costs as they seek advanced medical help in Boston. All funds will go to helping the family directly with travel and uncovered medical needs.
Please help us, help this sweet family!
