Life changes in an instant.  In April of 2017, a wonderful father, son, husband and friend was dealt a devastating blow when he was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma.  He is now fighting for his life.
 
The Trevarthan Family

David Trevarthan is a husband to Roxanne, son and most importantly a father to 3 great kids age 14, 11 and 9. Those who know David know he works hard for his family. He is a loving dad that on any given weekend can be found at his daughter’s gymnastics meets, his son’s football games or Boy Scout events.
 
Over the past 16 months David has been battling this aggressive cancer.  After surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, his life was finally getting back to normal with a bit of a break from treatment.  This July, they received word that the sarcoma has spread to both lungs and another battle needs to begin.  David will start aggressive chemotherapy all over again.
 
Since this diagnosis occurred, the family has been using up vacation time, FMLA leave and sick leave to receive treatments.  Extensive time off, overnights for chemotherapy, daily travel and illness has resulted in excess financial stress. Since the cancer has progressed, more radical treatment is needed. Longer stays mean increased hotel bills, parking fees, tolls and gas needed to drive to and from Boston. Less time at home, less time with the kids and less time working. In addition to all of this, Roxanne and her family are juggling the children’s schedules, final semesters of a Master’s in nursing and attempting to enjoy some time together as a family.
 
Friends and family have shown their support with meals, childcare, home cleaning and carpooling. The last piece needed is to relieve some of the financial impact of this horrible disease so the Trevarthan’s can focus on healing and time together as a family.
