Jyrkkanen Family Road To Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Michaela and my parents, Ken and Stacey, and their dog, Finn, were in serious car accident on July 25 coming home from their annual camping trip in Lake Louise, Alberta. While driving through Salmon Arm, an SUV in the oncoming lane jumped the median and collided head on with their truck.
Stacey was airlifted to Royal Inland Hospital where she will need multiple surgeries to rebuild her femur and both feet. She will need mobility aides in order to return home, and they will need to renovate their house to make it wheelchair accessible. The goal is for her to learn how to walk independently again.
Finn required emergency surgery to remove his spleen and had to stay in a vet hospital in Kelowna.
I created this fundraiser to help support my parents and to give our community the opportunity to support them as well. We are so grateful for everyone who has already reached out to offer their thoughts and prayers, visited my mom, brought my parents meals, and more. If you are able to donate to help cover Finn’s vet bills and aides/treatments for Stacey and Ken that aren’t covered by ICBC, it would be so greatly appreciated by our family.
Thank you again for all the positive thoughts, healing vibes and prayers - it means the world to us.
