Hi everyone, if you're seeing this post there's a good chance you've been lucky enough to meet my sweet boy Rocky. If not let me tell you a bit about him. He is genuinely one of the gentlest, most loving, and incredible beings I've been lucky enough to spend time with. He has played an integral role in my life over the years with the joy and companionship he has provided me, always there, always solid.
He unfortunately was recently diagnosed with a form of cancer that is long and wordy so I will shorten it to AGASACA. If you look this up on the web there tons of info on it. Obviously, upon hearing the news I was heartbroken. I'm much more hopeful and optimistic now. This is a common form of cancer in dogs and there are a handful of treatment options to extend his quality and quantity of life. The main being surgery which was took place on November 21st - His birthday! Everything went well and he's home, comfortable and recovering. Once he is completely healed there a few post OP treatments which will help keep the cancer at bay without degrading his quality of life. That is my main goal here, extending how many years he gets with us without ever compromising his quality of life. If all things go well his prognosis is 2-3 years of high quality life.
I now must humbly reach out to my community and ask for support in this time. The diagnosis process which included a CT scan alone has cost over $4,000. The surgery ended up costing between $5,600 and post op care/treatment will run in the thousands. All of the funds donated will go to paying for the diagnosis process, his surgery, and future post op care/treatment. Never once have I questioned weather or not providing him with these treatments was the right thing to do. He has always been and will continue to be worth the financial hardship. He's my best friend and a part of my family as I'm sure many of your animals are to you.
Any support through this time is eternally appreciated. If you cannot support monetarily, sharing this campaign and sending him healing energy is just as needed and appreciated. I promise to always provide him with the best care and treatment through his battle. Many thanks, we love you all!
