Jyl Wyckoff was diagnosed with metaplastic carcinoma breast cancer this October. This is a rare form of breast cancer, accounting for fewer than 1% of all breast cancers. This type of cancer also behaves more aggressively than other kinds of breast cancers. Jyl went through a strong red devil chemo the last few months, and the tumor continued to grow. The plan right now is to continue a different type of chemo, and have a double mastectomy, the removal of breasts, January 15th. Jyl was first diagnosed with stage 2 cancer, but the stage will be evaluated again after surgery. Due to her surgery, she will be on disability from work for 6-8 weeks with less income coming in during that time. This is a very painful surgery, and Jyl will have troubles moving around for several weeks. Jyl has an individual medical expense per year of $10,000 out of pocket and she will have this both for 2020 and 2021. Along with being off on disability.
