Help is on the way!
Hello!
My name is Tamar and I am working to raise funds for a mobility service dog. Years ago, I was diagnosed with advancing osteoarthritis which has progressed sharply over the last few years. Because of severe arthritis and related medical issues I live in chronic pain and my mobility is severely limited. Last year, my hip dislocated and I laid on the floor for hours before help came. Because of the pain and the anxiety of falling again, going out by myself is incredibly challenging. To safely maneuver daily living activities, I need help.
Recently, I received exciting news that I have been approved to receive a mobility service dog through Brigadoon Service Dogs in Bellingham, WA. (https://www.brigadoondogs.org/) I have been on the wait list for 2 years. His name is Spencer and he’s a Lab-Golden mix. Having this dog in my life will not only provide tremendous physical support and companionship, he will help with day-to-day tasks I now find exceedingly difficult.
While the actual cost of raising and training a service dog is over $40,000, Brigadoon Service Dogs asks that I help to offset that, and I need to contribute $10,000 which is more than I can afford on my limited income (I am on Social Security disability.)
Can you help? Any contribution will get me closer to living a more independent life with a long term companion.
I am so Grateful for the love and support of my family and friends and appreciate the generous help from donors who don’t know me.
