Hello All,
My name is Luna and I am the mother of two beautiful, loving, and loyal Dalmatian companions. I do the best that I can to take care of them, as both of them are my entire world. As I'm sure you all well know, sometimes no matter how hard we try to protect our loved ones, accidents still happen. Monday morning I woke up early to feed my dogs and let them use the bathroom per every other normal day. After I let them use the bathroom and went to feed them breakfast, my youngest dog, Domino, would not eat his food. This was an immediate red flag for me as I know him very well and he wouldn't refuse food for any reason. I gave him a few minutes to try and use the bathroom again, when I discovered he would squat but was unable to relieve himself. Directly following this, I took him to the emergency vet. The vets took him in quickly and sedated him for x-rays. It was not long before I received news of what happened. But I can tell you this time felt like an eternity; I could not breathe and I was using all of my strength to hold myself together. When seeing the images and being told clearly that my puppy had swallowed a very large stone, my body went into shock. I could only stand there in horror seeing this image (it is burned into my mind). I was informed that this is an emergency, and it is causing a serious blockage in my puppy's intestine. The only thing they could do was to remove the stone surgically. I was then escorted to the front desk where I began to discuss how much this was going to cost. I know you all know how stressful hearing any type of large financial number is. Trying to wrap my head around this cost as quickly as possible so my boy can be treated, while I'm being told that there is always a risk with anesthesia and even more so with a blockage surgery like this. Let's just say, I was more than overwhelmed and emotionally exhausted.
I am here today asking anyone who has the possibility of helping, anyone who knows what it is like to fear losing a furry loved one. Anyone who loves their dog as family, and understands how much they mean to us & that we would do anything for them. If you are able and willing to help, anything at all goes a long way.
Thank you for your time in reading my story, please help me spread the word that I need help with Domino's vet costs.
