Devin and Teria Ridley are victims of the 2020 Cookeville, TN Tornado. They were blessed with their lives, but their house and belongings are completely gone.
On March 3, 2020 around 2 am, a tornado ripped through the Cookeville area. In the path, laid Devin and Teria. They were fortunate enough to be awoken by the warnings and with incredible quick thinking, grabbed their motorcycle helmets. The two barely made it to their bathtub when the tornado hit their house. The last thing remembered being the pull on their bodies from the tornado. They awoke close together, but thrown yards behind their house into an open field. Off pure shock and adrenaline, Devin and Teria climbed through the debris of their house to the road where thankfully, First Responders were beginning to arrive to the area.
Devin is facing two fractures to his leg, multiple small fractures to his spine, and a large gash to his head where his motorcycle helmet was ripped off. Teria received multiple broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a fractured ankle. And of course, both are bruised and cut up. Their house totally demolished with only the driveway and foundation left. All belongings tattered, torn and thrown. Larger items like furniture and appliances left so demolished that they are unrecognizable as what they once were. Their complete life at that house carried away. They are left with only the clothes on their back and the few scavenged items found by family, friends and volunteers.
Devin and Teria did not ask for this account nor is there any type of monetary goal needed. But with as special as these two are and as many requests to help them being received, this was an opportunity to show how much they are loved and cared for.
