It's with a heavy but hopeful heart that I'm writing this today. Bo has been diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. Inside his left kidney from imaging taken in October, the doctors were able to identify a tumor slightly larger than a golf ball. We have met with a surgeon at OSHU who has put us on a list to remove the tumor and probably most, if not all, of the kidney itself. Surgery my be sometime near March with no specific date yet scheduled. We are also in contact with a naturopath in Portland who agrees surgery is a wise choice but has recommended a variety of herbs, suppliments, vit C infusions and other therapies with hopes of slowing or even reversing the growth of the intruder inside his kidney while we wait for a date to be set for surgery.
Bo is in pain every day, some days worse than others. He still pushes himself to work when he feels able but this seems less and less although he is not easily pursueded to rest and wants to keep supporting his family. We have acquired more than 10,000 dollars in medical bills so far and expect that number to at least double in the coming months. This, coupled with Bo's inability to work much is putting a large financial strain on him and his family. Our family is enormously grateful for any support you may feel inclined to give, even if that support is just a prayer or healing thoughts. Thank you and bless all of you!!
