Help Me Start a New Chapter

If you know me on a personal level, you know I’ve been struggling in my marriage for some time now. I’ve been with my husband for over 24 years. We have raised two children who are now adults and are doing well on their own, thankfully.

The past handful of years have been especially rough for me with all the toxicity I’ve endured from this marriage, including having to get past the fact that my husband slept with my sister for two years behind my back, all while giving her hush money at the expense of our own financial security. I should have left when I discovered the infidelity, but I didn’t want to break up our family. Since then, my husband has done nothing to show that he can be trustworthy. In fact, he continues to mock me, disrespect me, gaslight me, and manipulate me, and I can’t keep going on being made to feel worthless.

As hard as it’s going to be, I need to leave and move on with my life if I’m ever going to feel well again. This stress is adversely affecting my health both mentally and physically. The only thing holding me back at this point is money. I need money to buy a vehicle outright, as I will not be able to afford my current car payments on my own. My husband has been the main breadwinner (I had a decent job but was forced to give it up when we had to leave the state to be there for my father-in-law’s bypass surgery last year). I also need a financial cushion to lean on so that I can take care of my dogs while I’m searching for a new job in my new home. I can’t even leave without funds to get where I’m going, so that’s where this fundraiser comes into play.
