JW Salveson's Dental Implant Expense Fund
Donation protected
This is the official page for JW Salveson and funding for expenses related to emergency Dental Implants and other direct necessities for that purpose. A detailed listing of disbursements will be provided and updated as they occur.
Normally I would not being doing this, but several unauthorized sites have popped up saying they are going to directly benefit us but we have no idea who they are or where any money collected will be distributed to.
Thankfully Our good friend Dr Lynne Erbe founded the Official GoFundMe page and I took over from her. We are grateful for her foundation and her principles.
I am deeply sad to announce that due to major health reasons, The Port Saint Lucie Christmas House will not open for 2019.
In December 2018, just before New Year's Eve, most of you know that I had a Heart Attack. Then in May, followed my second Heart Attack. I still was willing to persevere forward with The Christmas House but then learned of the reasons behind my Heart issues.
When I was in the horrific car accident in 2016, having been rear ended while at a dead stop waiting to turn, by a young girl texting, not paying attention, driving her father's car, ramming into my car at 55 mph, in a 30 mph zone, sending my car airborne into someone's front yard, most of you know that I had severe spinal injuries requiring multiple surgeries. Though the doctor's initially told us that I would never walk again, the insurance settlement covered my "Miracle" and through my constant therapy, I continue to walk today. I could have been wealthy and in a wheel chair, or choose to get the Miracle and walk. I chose the Miracle.
However, I also bit the steering wheel in the crash like I was eating a bagel and most of my original (Movie Star Smile) teeth were destroyed. The damage to my mouth was severe and my dental upper and lower jaw bone structure, as it was discovered by a dozen dental professionals, could not sustain dentures, and I had no choice but to have Dental Implants, and was advised then, immediately.
Knowing this, in 2017, we went ahead with The Port Saint Lucie Christmas House because it was to be featured on National Television on ABC/Disney's Great Christmas Light Fight, filmed in '17 and broadcast a year later in 2018. I made a foolish decision to ignore my mouth issues and fund the Christmas House, forging ahead for the Children and Animals along with all the national attention Port St Lucie would experience because of what Jerome Sangalli and I accomplished for the previous 11 years.
By doing the Christmas House for those two years, we cashed in our Life Insurance policies, used all our savings and basically bankrupted us so I would never be able to have the money or afford my dental implants. It was at the time a logical sacrifice for Children. As I was not able to work any longer, as the months progressed, we became a one income household, draining all resources until at this moment we barely have held our heads at the water line financially.
Now, my Doctor's have let us know that my heart issues are a direct result of my Mouth/Teeth issues and the many painful mouth infections that I am currently dealing with. Not knowing what to do about my mouth, the Doctor's have point blank stated that if I don't take care of my teeth immediately, I will suffer another, most likely, massive heart attack which could ultimately prove fatal. Problem is, we have no means to pay for it.
Neither Jerome or myself have the money to cover the cost of Dental Implants.........are you kidding? I have gone to a dozen Implant Dentists from Miami to Vero Beach and the cost is a low of $40,000 to a high of $52,000 Those fricking commercials fail to disclose that the cost of a new set of teeth is the cost of a car. Guess what? That is what the Christmas House cost for 2017 and 2018. I thought that I could put off my, what I thought at the time, my vanity and engage the Community and City of Port St Lucie for the Children and Animals and use what funds we had for that instead of my teeth.
From my Friends, my Lawyer to my Physicians, everyone has said to me now, that My Health comes first. I was willing to do The House, but we just don't have the money for my teeth or The Christmas House, and I can not physically or financially do either this year. I am truly afraid of the Doctor's warnings. Either get the mouth fixed or get my affairs in order. No telling what will happen. It is in God's hands and I ask him hourly to help me somehow to provide an answer.
Please, I am pleading, don't forget the Children of Boys and Girls Club of St Lucie County or the animals at Dogs and Cats Forever No-Kill Animal Sanctuary this year. There will be a certain void without The Christmas House.
I am positively heartbroken that after all these years I am facing real health issues that I don't know how to solve. I apologize to the children, animals and the St Lucie County Community for letting you down and not able to create our wonderful event this year.
Love and Prayers will continue to pour from my heart. Thank you for all the great years. Together, We have raised over a quarter of a million toys for the children in our community over the past decade. Thank you all.
