Help Jess Get Back Home

I had 24 hours to leave the country I called home.

On August 15th I was forced to come back to America, back to a toxic environment, during this pandemic after living in Europe for over 10 years. I haven't looked at America as a place I call home in quite some time, in fact, I feel quite foreign here despite being an American.

Since 2010, I have lived in Germany, I was there for the majority of my time in Europe before taking the risk to move to the UK at the beginning of 2020. Yes, love was the reason. I had to do an abmeldung (basically that means I had to deregister from the country of Germany) as it is their policy when you leave Germany for another country you have to give up your residence visa. In doing this, I knew I was taking a risk but I thought everything would be alright. However, at the end of July the relationship I left Germany for abruptly ended and I was quite literally shipped out of the country by his family. I had a little over 24 hours to pack away my entire life and leave our flat to be on a plane back to America the next morning. Luckily, my friends came and they helped to sort some things out, changed my flight which allowed me a little more time to process what just happened to me and gave me time to go back to Germany to explain everything to the people I love before having to go back to America.

The experience was traumatic, to say the least, and as I'm dealing with what happened, with the aid of therapy, I am now faced with having to live in a toxic environment, with a mother who has been the source of my depression and my mental and emotional abuser since childhood. Mentally and emotionally, I am not safe here.

I have looked up what it would cost to at least secure a flat in the UK, get a bed, a fridge and continue with my therapy sessions. I will be saving the money I make from my YouTube channel to cover any visa costs. The funds raised here would be used solely to get back overseas where I call home.

So I am asking for your help. If you can not donate due to your own financial struggles then I encourage to participate in the #GetJessHome campaign by sharing my GoFundMe page everywhere you can, using that hashtag. You never know who you might reach!

Also, I have a YouTube channel with follow up videos regarding this situation if you want to continue to keep up with this journey. I will leave a few links below. There are also several vlogs I've made on my channel documenting this experience if you're interested. Thank you for your help in advance.
