University Accommodation Rent
Donation protected
Hi, I’m a 19-year-old university student studying Business Management. I’m reaching out because I need help covering my studio rent so I can focus on my studies and continue living independently. As additional context, I’ve just completed my first year with a First Class (equivalent to an A grade), and I’m committed to continuing to work hard and making the most of this opportunity.
While my maintenance loan and my mum has been helping me, I still have a gap of £2,867.54. My dad has only offered to help in the form of an interest-free loan that I would need to repay back to him. I had hoped for support without strings attached, but that hasn’t been possible, so I’m looking for alternative ways to bridge this gap. He suggested that I do a GoFundMe.
This fund will go directly toward my studio rent for the coming months, ensuring I have a safe, stable place to live while completing my degree. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and help me stay focused on my education.
Over the summer, I’ve been working in my hometown to save money for university. I was under the impression that this job would provide me with full-time hours (at least 35 hours per week, as is standard in the UK). However, I later learned that full-time hours were never guaranteed and they were only a preference. Because of that, I wasn’t able to earn what I had planned for. The income I will receive from my job will go toward day-to-day essentials like food, laundry costs, and university basics (shampoo, kitchen equipment, etc.). If I had received full-time hours, this would be a very different situation, but right now the gap in rent is more than I can manage on my own.
Thank you so much for your support.
