I Have A Dream!!!

Hey there! I'm Robin Leanne and I have a story for you!!!

History - I've been a theater geek my entire life (well since I was 10...1985) I was always active in musical theater, plays and improvs, songwriting and singing, etc. Even into my college years.

Forward many many years....

In 2013, I injured my back working at a camp site. Since then I have been challenged with a lot of pain and so far 2 back, surgeries (in the last 3 years) with one more to come in August (or sooner!).

I considered the thought that although I could still write music and sing, I wasn't sure I would ever have the strength or stamina to work in theater or film again. It's a lot physically. Anyways, I carried on as best I could and before the first surgery I managed to be a part of two more plays, the most recent, The Towering Cross by Andrew Kooman back in 2015.

Then all this happened!...

As most of you already know God has done a tremendous miracle (for the second time) by moving up my MRI date by a WHOLE YEAR (rocking my surgeon and his receptionist btw) and getting us a faster surgery for me. Currently the surgery will be booked in August, but we are still praying for something sooner.

Well, as it happens, during this same time of receiving such good news, I felt a calling to step out in faith and audition for a casting company out of the USA. They held auditions here in Red Deer, only for the second time ever, so I thought why not! It went great and the feedback they gave me suggested I lean towards both TV commercials and singing!!

Well.... I got a call back, and I've now been invited to Burbank, California for December of this year! Which just happens to be long enough after surgery that I'll have healed enough to be able to attend the showcase.

In order to make the deadline for registration, I was told to give an answer before May 8th, on whether I will attend or not, so I prayed about it and the Lord reminded me that I am still not vaxxed! I can't travel over the border!!!

I began to pray and said "Lord why would you bring me to this thing just to have the door closed on me? Am I missing something?

I felt I should put out a fleece (or two) so I did!

I said to the Lord "if you really want me to go to this and it's truly from you then these restrictions will have to be removed when they make the new announcements on May 11th....AND the organization would have to extend my registration due date at least until the 11th so we could confirm it...we all know how flippy floppy recent Gov't decisions can be...

Well, God said yes to both! The same day I emailed the Organization for an extension we learned from Judy, Chad's mom in Maui, that the US gov't would indeed be lifting all travel restrictions as of May 11, 2023!! Praise God! But would they extend my registration deadline???...

Later that same day I received an email back confirming that yes! They would give me an extension until May 12th to register! Praise God!

The Lord has been showing us a great movement of His power and how He is able to restore all the enemy has stolen. We have made the decision that YES I am registering for the showcase in Burbank, Cali happening December of this year! We will use our retirement fund if we have to. LOL

I'm so excited, as I'm sure you can imagine, as this has been a dream of mine since childhood. Only God can move in ways like this to open the right doors at the right time. He gave me a yes to BOTH fleeces and we feel this is a gift from Him.

Now here's the part where you all come in.

The showcase is 6 days full of workshops, performances, auditions, improvs, meet & greets with agencies from across the nation (yes Canadian ones too) and as you can imagine it's not cheap lol

After tallying everything up (in US finds and converting our currently weak and sad little dollar) we figure it will cost us around $7000 CAD. That's including the showcase, a personal advisor, all training, hotel, food, and flights! We won't need anything for transport as the hotel is right at the airport and we won't need to venture out (or have time to).

I understand that it's not the greatest time to be asking for financial support as I'm guessing we're all experiencing more challenging times than normal with these crazy inflationary days. My hope and prayer is that many hands make lighter work. If there is any way you might be able to help, even if that's only through prayer, we offer our greatest gratitude.

I know God wants me to have my life back after this last upcoming surgery and I believe He wants to fulfill the desires of my heart. (That is something He promises to all of us!) "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and ALL His righteousness and ALL these things shall be added unto you".

Being that it has always been a dream of mine to work more in the fine arts industry I'd say He's giving me a once in a lifetime opportunity here and we trust He will make a way for it to happen....this is a chance for redemption and full reconciliation back to who He created me to be.
