On Christmas Eve around noon, Raven was struck by an SUV on a residential road during a blizzard in Lake Tahoe. After being rushed to the vet, X-Rays showed that she had a ruptured diaphragm, lung contusions, and her liver and stomach we're moving into her chest cavity. The vets at Agate Bay informed Tim that the only hospital with room to operate on Raven was in Sacramento. So, after five hours in a snow storm, Tim was able to get her to the hospital. On Christmas Day she underwent surgery to repair the ruptured diaphragm and to move her organs back to where they were supposed to be. Her lungs were not functioning at full capacity so a ventilator was used in addition with an oxygen box. Miraculously Raven pulled through and is being released. Ali was able to fly into Sacramento, after having missed out on the holiday back east. Unfortunately, Ravens bills are in excess of $8,000.00.
