Reed Thomas Deitz was born in January of 2015. He is the happiest baby you will ever meet, he meets no stranger and constantly smiles. Reed's amazing parents were told at their 20 week appointment that Reed had Omphalocele and should be aborted. Rooted in Jesus and faith, Kristin & Cody did not accept that. They found an amazing team of doctors who gave them the knowledge and guidance to overcome this. Reed was born healthy and happy! He only stayed in the hospital a short 8 days instead of the expected months they were expecting. Reed has already overcome so many obstacles. He sat up, rolled over, crawled and has even walked despite being told those things probably couldn't happen.
14 months later... Reed had closure surgery on April 4th, 2016. He is currently in the hospital in Houston recovering. With God's grace, he will be out in the next week but will have to return for follow ups and other things. My sister, Kristin ,and her husband Cody are the nicest, caring, humble people you will ever meet. They would NEVER ask for a penny. They would give everything away if they knew it would help someone out. In fact, they are not going to be thrilled about this. But, I feel called to do this. God has called us to be a body of Christ and to pick each other up in a time of need. I know in my heart that Kristin and Cody would do this for ANYONE. Brothers and sisters, the Deitz Family needs us. Kristin stopped teaching in December 2014 to take care of Reed. Cody has worked long, long hours to support them. If all we can do at this time is prayer and support, then let us stand up and do it. They will face many, many obstacles over the next few months, I pray financials isn't one of them. Any amount will be appreciated and please do not feel obligated. If you cannot help financially, I ask that you just pray. Prayer changes everything. Thank you so much.
