Julia is a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a police officer, a standout athlete, and an all-around loving and caring goofball.
Julia got married to her wife Lex (also a police officer) on May 5, 2018. The couple was so excited to start their new life together. Upon returning from their honeymoon, Julia went back to the doctor for a persistent issue that she believed was pneumonia, and
Instead was diagnosed with stage 3B lung cancer. When her friends and family were given the news, no one could believe it. How could a active, vibrant young woman like Jules get lung cancer in her 20’s, especially since she doesn’t smoke? Since her diagnosis, Julia has undergone surgery and aggressive treatment for her cancer that has proven to be unsuccessful. Doctors are now indicating the best option left for Julia is clinical trials and unconventional treatments, which will require travel and most likely will not be covered by insurance.
Julia needs help from her friends, and the communities of which she is a part of to financially access those trials and treatments. Let’s make sure Jules gets the help she needs.
