I’m hoping to raise funds for Wessex Neurological Centre to thank them for the help they are currently giving me.

I was diagnosed with Chronic inflammatory demylenising, polyneuropathy (CIDP) in February 25. I had gradually lost use of both arms and legs and it turns out my body destroys its own myelin. The messages simply don’t get through from my brain to my muscles. It’s been a pretty tough time as you can imagine. Chris has had to do nearly everything for me, and somehow manages to do it with a smile on his face! Won’t divorce him just yet. Having to use a wheelchair and have your food cut up for you is a pretty humbling experience….

I am now receiving treatment from the fabulous, caring neurological unit at Southampton General Hospital, but I’m sadly in it for the long haul. I’m currently receiving an infusion of antibodies every three weeks, not exactly fun but it’s helping. This is expensive treatment and I wanted to try to give something back.

With the help of my wonderful friends and family, I hope to hold a few fundraising initiatives this year. No pressure but there may be something that you’d like to support.
