Help Us Support Jamaica After Hurricane Melissa

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As many of you know, Hurricane Melissa has recently wreaked havoc across Jamaica, leaving countless families in dire need of assistance. The devastation of homes, loss of livelihoods, and the emotional toll on our communities are staggering.

We, the Jamaicans in Ireland diaspora, are coming together to launch this GoFundMe campaign to provide immediate relief to those affected by the hurricane. Your donations will help supply essential items such as food, clean water, clothing, and medical supplies, as well as support rebuilding efforts for homes and businesses.

Every donation counts and can truly make a difference. Together, we can show our solidarity and support for our Jamaican brothers and sisters during this challenging time. While the The Jamaicans in Ireland are also preparing relief barrels for those affected, we have decided that none of the donations from the Go Fund Me will go anywhere else except to the people on the ground in Jamaica who need help.

Ethlyn Thomas is the individual responsible for withdrawing and handing over the funds to the Jamaicans in Ireland Diaspora committee members who then will distribute the funds accordingly.
Specific areas of relief efforts focus will be on people with disabilities. A substancial amount of funds will go towards the Mustard Seed Community (people living with disabilities ) in Jamaica . They have 12 residential homes and lost their roof in around four homes and lack food and clothing, medical supplies and personal hygiene supplies, during the hurricane. We are also collaborating with Mustard Seed Ireland to send shipment of food, clothes and medical supplies and personal hygiene supplies donated by varies agencies and families . Also a portion of donated supplies and funds will be sent to some communities that have been Marooned and without much needed food and water.
Monies collected will go towards shipping of container of food , clothes medication and personal hygiene products from Ireland to Jamaica to Mustard Seed community and to community outreach group. Remaining funds will go towards more food and clothes as needed.
Timeline for when and how the aid will be distributed is from December 30th to February 2026.

Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your friends and family. Your kindness and generosity can help restore hope and rebuild lives.

Thank you for your support.
