The replacement of the chiller and compressor are approaching one million dollars. Hazen Winter Sports is fortunate to be able to afford a sizable amount of this project, but we are in need of additional support. While we recognize this is a big undertaking, we have also seen the way individuals and businesses pull together in a time of need. This is one of those times.
The ice at Hazen All Seasons Arena is in constant use from October to March each year. We house approximately 170 hockey players, 75 figure skaters and 40 curling club athletes with athletes traveling as far as 90 miles one way to participate. Figure skating begins at 5:30 a.m. and hockey players step on the ice immediately following the school day, and their practices continues until 10:00 p.m. We also host hockey games and tournaments, figure skating performances, birthday parties, open skate, community events and so much more. This facility is well loved, well used and appreciated.
As a parent-run organization with one seasonal employee, the building maintenance, advertising, finances, communication and concessions duties are 100% fulfilled by volunteers. Hazen Winter Sports could not be run without the dedication and commitment of our Hazen Winter Sport families and the support of generous donors like you.
On behalf of Hazen Winter Sports and the hundreds of kids that come through our doors each year, we appreciate your consideration in supporting our purchase of a new chiller and compressor.
