Det. Lawson shot in line of duty.

On March 10, 2016 Detective Sgt. Eddie Lawson was attempting to arrest a subject with outstanding warrants.  After arriving on scene and confronting the suspect and positively identifying him he advised him that he was under arrest.  The subject resisted arrest and in the course of resisting produced a handgun at which time an armed confrontation and exchange of gunfire occured between the perpetrator and Detective  Sgt. Lawson.  Sgt. Lawson was wounded in the confrontation as well as the perpetrator.  The perpetrator was apprehended without further incident approximately one hour after the shooting. 

This account has been set up by the Simpson County Sheriff's Office to help cover living expenses for Detective Sgt. Lawson during his road to recovery.  Anyone wishing to express gratitude or sympathy is asked to donate to this account.
