Transplant and UVA Funds
Donation protected
Hi my name is Megan Guthrie and I have my 14 year old cousin Aliyah who has been working hard the past 4 years to be able to recieve a kidney transplant. This loving child remains so positive and hopeful, she has been diagnosed with end stage renal failure (both of her kidneys are completely dead with no function) she has to run on dialysis each night for 9 hours and she's finally made it on the active transplant list. We received a call from her transplant team today explaining with the years working tword her active status each day has added up so baby girl will most certainly have a kidney within a month (they said we should be ready to head to UVA at any notice possibly this week) During this time we will be required to stay at UVA for a few weeks and then at a location close to the hospital for up to an additional month. Funds will help with food and gas for appointments and any needs for Aliyah. If we are lucky enough to reach our goal or overcome it any additional funds will be used to treat Aliyah in the activities she has been excluded from due to strict rules while on dialysis to prevent infection or her catheter site. If your not able to donate please share and keep her in your prayers as this will be a rough road and lengthy recovery. God bless you all and thank you for any and everything your able to do for our family.
