Jay’s Top Surgery fund!

Hi, Carla here!

It’s taken us a lot of thought about whether to do this or not, but under the circumstances we have no ther choice than to put our egos and pride aside and reach out to the community for help.

Jay’s top surgery date has been confirmed for 5 weeks time.

After years of appointments, waiting and frankly being messed around, he’s been given a short amount of time to be prepped and ready for this.

As much as we understand he’s in a privileged place to be receiving this life changing surgery, we are in a position where we have to be asking for financial help from the community.

Being self employed means no sick pay. With only us two running the shop, it means we will need to close for a period of time to travel to Hull for pre-op assessments, the surgery itself, and recovery.

This means zero income for that time, which as you can imagine is a scary situation to be in.

Were in a difficult position where we don’t know if we’ll be able to pay all our bills, and with no clear knowledge of how long recovery will be, unable to know if we will be even able to keep the shop open if we can’t make the bills.

For those that don’t know, we run Primavera Wellness Space - Wales’ First fully inclusive wellness space that offers massage and therapies, a coffee shop, small business products shop along with holding free LGBTQIA+ and Trans+ events each month.

Jay has shown up time and time again over the past few years for his trans siblings during really testing times, even when himself behind the scenes, he’s been struggling massively.

I’m asking that even you can spare the price of a coffee, you would consider donating to his top surgery fund so we’re able to financially be okay to travel back and forth from Hull multiple times, be able to take the financial burden of rent, utility, shop bills and shop rent without personal bills like food, toilietries and post surgery items such as bandages, pillows, tapes and comfortable clothing to make the recovery as smooth as possible.

We want to be as transparent as possible, and will be able to break down costs of everything he’s needing to pay in that specific time.

There is only so much I’ll be able to work inbetween looking after him recovering, and I fear that won’t be nearly enough to survive and keep our bills covered.

Thank you so much for anything you can contribute, and if you’re not able to, a share on social media to get it out further will be more than appreciated xx
