Hi, my name is Ebony, and I’m reaching out with a humble heart to ask for your support for my aunt, **Greta Boykin**, a woman whose strength and spirit have touched so many.

In July 2022, Greta was diagnosed with **Arterial Pulmonary Hypertension**, a rare and progressive disease that affects the arteries in the lungs and the right side of the heart. Since then, she has been bravely fighting for every breath, never losing her bright smile or her fierce determination.

With expert care from MUSC in Charleston, SC, Greta gave it her all. But when her condition worsened, her doctors knew it was time for a new path: a **double lung transplant**. She was referred to the Cleveland Clinic — one of the top transplant centers in the country — and after months of evaluations and hopeful trips to Ohio, **Greta is finally being considered for the transplant list**.

In 2024, when Greta’s breaths grew shorter and the days harder, her medical team and I sat down and asked her one critical question:

**“Do you want to keep fighting?”**

Without hesitation, Greta said, **“YES!”**

Now, we’re asking you to help Greta continue to say YES — YES to life, YES to hope, YES to healing.

Greta will need to be flown to Cleveland on a **special medical flight**, an emergency service that costs between **$11,500-$13,000**. Following the transplant, she will spend **up to two months in the hospital**, and because she lives out-of-state, she will also need to **temporarily relocate** to Cleveland for ongoing rehabilitation and intensive post-surgical care — costs her insurance unfortunately will not cover.

This journey will require:

- Medical flight transportation

- Temporary housing near the Cleveland Clinic

- Out-of-pocket medications and living expenses during recovery

If you know Greta, you know her as a **beloved chef**, a woman who has poured her love into every dish and every gathering — lifting spirits through her food, laughter, and generosity.

Even now, while tethered to oxygen 24/7, she dreams of cooking again, traveling again, *living* again — and one day, becoming a voice for others fighting pulmonary diseases.
