My name is Maria Nazarre and I am a 7 time cancer survivor! Thank God I am in remission since October of this year but currently undergoing treatment for my red blood cells.
Unfortunately, my husband, Justo has been diagnosed with cancer and will go under the knife next Thursday. Although his PET scan showed that no major organs are affected, we still don't know the source of his cancer. During surgery, they will remove the tonsils, scrape the back of his throat and his tongue, and take out some of that mass so that it can be tested and hopefully show us the source. He will go under chemo and radiation therapy afterward. His survival is at a 70%. My husband is also disabled and is a former United States Marine.
Since I am the primary source of income in my home, it has been difficult for me to work and undergo treatment. In order to make ends meet, I have to go to work in between treatment for myself and now my husband's treatments. It has been a long struggle for myself and my family, and now I may have to take some time off work in order to get my husband to his appointments because he does not drive. Thanks to my daughter and family members we have managed to help get him to where he has to go. I am already drowning in debt due to my treatment cost and having to miss so much work. I need to take some time off work to finish my treatment for my red blood cells so I've had to reduce my hours at work. There are co-payments and medicines that are not covered for me. The money I am raising will be used for medical co-payments, surgery co-pays and to help out with living expenses and transportation needs for my husband. The plan was to move into a smaller place, but at this time, the move would be impossible. In the last week, I've had to continue to pay for my treatment because I am not under insurance and everything has accumulated. My car broke down, that's another added expense. Since I work for commission, if I'm not at work, I don't get paid.
I've managed to survive many cancers and continue to work, but now I'm overwhelmed and I need help!! It hurts me to have to ask for help . Anything helps! If I can get back on my feet, and get my health under control, I can work out the rest. My treatment alone is costing me $1500 plus the medications which I'm trying to pay in installments.
Thank you in advance and God bless you!!
