Amazing family loses home to fire
Donation protected
Our Dear Friends Justin, Tureema, Kole & Kenya Mackinnon lost everything this morning after their brand new home caught on fire. They had just been settled for only a few short months in their newly constructed home.
The house directly next door to them caught on fire and the flames quickly engulfed their home. With moments to escape, they managed to leave their home with only the pajamas they were wearing and their dog and two cats.
The fire quickly took over and they were unable to go back in and get anything else. Living in the town of Calmar, there was longer wait times for the Fire & Rescue to arrive.
Justin, The Husband and father of the family himself being an Edmonton City Firefighter took action to save his family and got them out of the house and into safety. He himself joined in to assist, although being shaken up over losing everything he just spent the past year building.
They left their home with only the clothes on their backs, not even giving them time to grab shoes or wallets or anything. They have two children, a 11 Yr old Daughter and 13 Yr old Son. This has been a traumatizing event for these children losing all of their possessions and now having to feel without a home. The home their parents had dedicted so much time, and energy and hard work to.
This family has lost absolutely everything and their home. If you feel in your heart to give them even just a small amount to get them through this, they would be more then appreciative.
There has also been another family affected by one of the other burning houses and we will be setting them up a donation site as well. The two houses that had started the fires were empty and were nearing the end of their construction.
