[Survivor] "to beat the odds, one with great courage and strength, a true inspiration. "
Justin began his journey as a survivor at the age of 5 when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After a year of chemotherapy and treatments, he was in remission. When he turned 10, his leukemia returned and he underwent brain surgery to remove a tumor. He continued with more chemotherapy and several rounds of full brain radiation. In 2007, a few months after his 15th birthday, his cancer returned and he successfully completed a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, we recently learned the news that his cancer has returned. Our family knows that this will be his biggest battle yet.
His next treatment will be tough and his days will be long. At this point, my family is exploring all treatment options and clinical trials across the United States. It will include last minute plane rides, hotel stays, and many clinic visits. I am hoping with this fundraiser that we can ease a small portion of these immediate expenses.
I ask for your continued support and never ending prayers for Justin. This battle is not over. Justin is a survivor and will forever be a survivor.
We are hopeful that with his determination and strength he will conquer this next battle and be free of this disease.
