First I’d just like to thank you for being a part of my life. My ultimate goal in this letter is to make my needs know, and more importantly seek prayer for the next season in my life.
If you don’t know the details of the last 6 years of my life… well i’d actually prefer that! J But here is the readers digest version: my whole life I found myself finding my identity sports, and anything that would spark my pride in the same way that sports did. 6 years ago, through a series of God approved events, I replaced my identity in sports and filled that void that I always had with a drug addiction. After years of pain and misery God finally got me to a place of complete humility and surrender, a place where he could reveal himself to me. I went from being a homeless drug addict in Oakland California, to a place called the mission house in port orchard, Wa where I experienced freedom in Christ.
God has changed my desire, my purpose and my passion. Today I get to wake up and choose to stand in freedom, and all I want to do now is help other people experience that same never changing freedom that Christ offers.
I’m currently the program manager for the Mission house. In January I’m starting a 18 month internship to be the associate director of the Mission house. During that internship I will be fully in charge of our work ministry, I will be finishing school to be a ACBC certified biblical/addiction counselor and will be given a case load upon completion. I will also be teaching a few days a week and tending to the needs of the men in the house.
The 18 month internship is non-paid, which is why I am seeking financial help through this process. Upon completion of the internship I will be added to the payroll as the Associate Director of the mission house. My goal is to raise $27,000, which would amount to $1,500 hundred a month.
