Funeral Expenses for Justin McClain
Donation protected
Update: Saturday, July 27, 2024, Justin Cody McClain made his journey home with Karen, McKenna and Jim by his side. Justin's family was not prepared for the cost of a funeral service. I am currently asking for donation to help cover the costs of Justin's funeral.
Thank you for your generosity & prayers.
-------------------------------------------------------
First and foremost, thank you all so much for taking time to read this. Justin is my brother-in-law, but most importantly he is a father to McKenna & Karen’s fiancé. He is a brother, a son, an uncle, and a cousin. Justin is a friend to all.
Justin had been hospitalized at Sanford in Sioux Falls since June 8 for decompensated liver failure and acute kidney injury and was transferred July 3 to UNMC in Omaha to be evaluated for a liver transplant. Justin’s health declined quickly after arriving in Omaha and is currently in the ICU on continuous dialysis.
We have learned quickly that there are so many moving pieces and a lot can happen in short amount of time. We as a family are preparing for different scenarios while waiting for answers. But each of these scenarios consist of weeks spent here in Omaha with a lot of out-of-pocket expenses for Karen and Cheyenne. Since Karen and Justin weren’t married yet, Karen isn’t approved for FMLA through her job which makes this stressful situation financially straining.
This is a situation unlike anything we’ve faced before, and the hospital highly suggests asking for help financially. The costs add up quickly for Karen between gas, lodging & food all while maintain their personal expenses at home.
We will continue to update and answers questions but please have patience as this is a life changing event in each scenario we are being presented with.
Again, thank you for your time & generosity,
Megan
