Justin's Remission & Recuperation

Donation protected

Hi everyone, a friend suggested I set this up for my beloved partner of 11 years Justin. At 34 he is the proud father of Brock (5), Rory(7), stepson Zac (16), stepdaughters Jade (19) and Danni (25) plus three young grandkids. Justin is a hard working dedicated family man who woud do anything to help out his family or a mate.
We were absolutely devestated when he was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (an agressive form of blood cancer). The cancer had reached stage four, being in all of his lymph-nodes, spleen and bone marrow.
When Justin was first diagnosed the doctor's had little hope for him as his body couldn't fight the infection and wasn't responding to any antibiotics. He had a temperture of 39-40 degrees for four weeks, it even spiked to 42 a couple of times!
He spent the first six weeks in hospital until he was well enough to start treatment, which consisted of ten rounds of fortnightly chemotherapy and regular blood transfusions.
As a family we were all traumatised by this ordeal as we didnt know the outcome, we were even considering making funeral plans...
The last six months have been an emotional whirlwind of hospital, chemo, surgery, scans, blood tests and endless amounts of blood and platelet transfusions. All the while Justin stayed postive and still had a laugh despite all the discomfort he was in and ironically this has been his first time ever in hospital!! Contracting gastro literally saved his life as that led to the diagnosis of the cancer.
Amongst all of this anguish and turmoil we have had amazing love and support from family and friends.
His boys coped so well despite being so young and our
second eldest, Jade took on the mum role whilst I was at the hospital and we are enternally grateful for that!
We are ecstatic to announce after Justin's last PET scan he is now in REMISSION!! WOOHOO!
He will now have regular checkups for the next ten years.
SOOO...... due to all of the expenses eg. hospital stays,
petrol, ridiculous carpark fees and medication which was in excess of $300 a month, we have used up every spare cent. I would love to be able to take the family on a small budget holiday for some well deserved quality family time and just some R&R before he's ready to return to work.
We are not ones to ask for help as we are usually the ones helping others, but I think this is an exception as he is a deserving man who has awesome kids who deserve it too.
Your generosity will be greatly appreciated and I strongly urge people to donate blood as you never know when its your family member in dire need of it.
