It’s been nearly two years. Our lives changed forever.
It is still difficult to think about that day. The days, weeks, and months following were a roller coaster of emotions deeper than imaginable. Waves engulfed with extreme confusion, sorrow, and despair were washed away by hope, love, and faith.
From the darkest of times, we grew closer as a family. We have been surrounded by acts of unselfish love and kindness by so many unexpected people who helped us get to this point.
Justin is an amazing fighter. I have always believed that he is capable of anything he has set his mind to accomplish. From the debilitating stroke that tried to take his life in 2019 and left him with hemiparesis, he has regained the majority of his motor functions back through willpower, daily work, and God’s grace. Justin’s life is a miracle and he has inspired us all to be better and fight harder through every obstacle. I am proud to be his wife.
However, some things take time to heal. There is a path we have chosen to help remove the barrier and give opportunity to speed up the healing process. You can read about it here: https://www.nrimed.com/
This treatment has the potential to reduce the inflammation and help open some of the pathways for further recovery in a shorter window of time. For Justin, this means improved walking, sensitivity to touch, and increased opportunity for his left arm recovery.
We have had such an outpouring of love from so many, but others have asked how they can help. We never could find the answer to that question until now. This treatment is not covered by insurance, but has shown great promise and results for those with similar TBI. Justin‘s doctors have examined the therapeutic potential and expect this is a great fit. The recommended plan is to have at least two injections one week apart. The cost is $8500 each and treatment is only done in Florida. We have decided to move forward, despite the financial impact, because nothing is worth more than a healthy and happy life.
We appreciate those who have asked for an opportunity to support our journey. We have had so many contribute their time, help, love, and prayers. Your kindness is beyond measure.
Those of you who know Justin know that asking for help is not something that comes easily, if ever. He would rather figure out a way to accomplish whatever it is on his own. This is a way to help him get there faster.
