If you know me at all you know asking for help is something I’m not good at. I have a lot of pride and confidence in myself to tackle anything life throws at me. Looking ahead to what my next few months look like tho and I have to admit, I need help. Wednesday September 28th I tore my bicep. I was boing, helping a friend get ready for his fight, throwing a punch I’ve thrown 1million times, and it just popped. The MRI revealed a full distal biceps rupture, basically I ripped the tendon from the bone. It’s going to require surgery to reattach it and a long recovery process.
Fitness is literally my life. After working as a trainer and for other gyms for 10 years I launched JT Strength and Conditioning in June of 2019 to go into business for myself. It was an absolute grind, but thanks to an amazing group of clients I was able to make it through 2020 and COVID shut downs with my business intact (a lot of trainers cant say that).
Being self employed in this country is hard. I do not have great health insurance or an employers health plan to help cover this surgery. I spent the last week going back and forth with MNSure and other state funded insurance programs, and no one will give me coverage for this surgery. I am estimating my final bill will be ATLEAST $25,000 for all the medical. Costs, not to mentions the time off i may need for work. I’m looking for all the help I can get. If you want to help, but don’t have the funds to donate, even something as simple as referring people to my business (JT Strength & Conditioning, I have openings for both in person or online clients) or my podcast (The Train Insane Or Remain The Same Podcast) would help me out immensely.
