Justin is getting a kidney May 18th, 2023!
Donation protected
If you know Justin and Bobbie they aren’t the type of people to ask for help but they are at the point they can’t financially fight this battle alone. When Justin was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes he was 20, married with a one-year-old. Thankfully they have come a long way in the fight against diabetes but for him, it came too late. Things started taking a toll about 10 years ago when Justin's retina detached and he lost sight in his right eye. Justin had to start dialysis two years ago and it is the only thing keeping him alive. This past September he had a dialysis port placed that ended up getting infected and he was hospitalized with sepsis. We are lucky he is a fighter. Then two weeks ago he was hospitalized again with complications with fluid building up making it hard for him to breathe. He now has to have oxygen at home. Justin has been on a transplant list and just heard today that he has been approved and his surgery is on May 18th. Bobbie will donate a kidney to someone and Justin will get one. Because of this, Bobbie will miss a lot of time at work, and Justin will spend a lot of time at the hospital. With living expenses and driving to UC Health University of Colorado Anshutz Medical Center every day.
When Justin gets his kidney on May 18th he will be in the hospital for several weeks and then be required to be there 3 times a week. This will require them to stay in Denver for a few weeks and after that, he will be required to be down a few times a week. In the beginning and then after that once a week making trips to UCHEALTH Anshutz medical center often. Any help you can give them is much appreciated.
