Justin Baker’s cancer surgery/chemo in New York!

Justin Baker.
He’s 34 years old and the best dad to 3 beautiful kids, Landen, Ava, and Everly Baker. He’s married to the love of his life, Katie. He’s been an employee of Cox Truck and Van (CTV) for 6 years and 6 years previously at Cox Auto Parts. He is the beloved son, of Bob & Claudia Baker. He’s the brat I’ve loved since day one.
Justin’s been struck by the words no one ever wants to hear... “You’ve got cancer.”
Here are his words and why we chose to start this up:

Many may not know, but last November I was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. There was a large tumor blocking my colon and many lymph nodes in my pelvic area were cancerous. I had emergency surgery the following day to remove the tumor and as many of the nodes as possible. Surgery went fine, recovery went fine. The first of this year I began chemo and radiation for a month, followed by biweekly chemo up until August. Thankfully I was able to go through all of that with hardly any bad side effects, until I got off of chemo... CT, PETand MRI scans now show 2 tumors 3 to 4 cm in size, in my pelvic area, affecting my bladder, other organs and muscles. The best and most effective plan to remove the tumors and kill any and all cancerous activity in that area now will require me to see an oncologist surgeon in New York, but we are hoping for Emory in Atlanta. I am asking any of my friends and family on Facebook to please donate anything if at all possible to help towards travel expenses. If you cannot donate that is fine, I understand, a few kind words and a prayer for me and my family during this time will also be gratefully appreciated.

The cost of the trip to NY or Atlanta will be costly and with a family this size, finances are already tight. On top of both of them missing work for that amount of time. They are facing a mountain of obstacles ahead.
Yes, he has insurance, but it only pays so much, and it won’t help pay out-of-pocket money needed to get to this surgeon, time off for surgery and recovery... bills keep coming no matter what...

This is strictly a travel fund, for to-and-from appointments, gas, flights to NY if necessary, meals, hotels, etc.
We will update his progress when we can.
