Our Journey to Parenthood

Hello dear friends, family, and loved ones,

This is one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to write. For the past five years, we have faced the painful struggle of infertility. Despite countless tests, treatments, and heartbreaks, we have not yet been able to hold a child of our own.

In November 2024, we went through an IVF cycle that ended unsuccessfully. It was both emotionally devastating and financially overwhelming. Then, in January, we thought our miracle had finally come—Kim became pregnant naturally. We dreamed together, picked out names, bought books and toys, and felt a joy we will never forget.

But the day before we were to share the news with our families, our world fell apart. At the ultrasound, we learned that our baby did not have a heartbeat. The grief of that loss is something we still carry with us every day.

Despite the setbacks, our hope to become parents has not faded. We are ready to try again, but our time and options are running out. We want to pursue another IVF cycle at CCRM, one of the top clinics in the country, but the cost is beyond what we can manage on our own—especially after insurance has offered no help despite dozens of appeals.

Both of us have dedicated our lives to serving others—through the military, nursing, education, and simply trying to be good friends and family. Asking for help is not easy for us, but we believe in the power of community, kindness, and love.
