My sister Allyn, and her fiancé Darren, has experienced something I never thought would happen in a million years. This is something we only see on the news, this isn’t something that should’ve happened again.

 

On 09/09/2021 Allyn dropped off her 3 pups for boarding, to go on a short and well deserved vacation. Suri, was a healthy pit-chow mix and the youngest of the bunch having just turned 1 years old on 07/04/2021.

A couple days later, on 09/13/2021 my sister received a call saying that Kai (the middle pup) was sick but Suri and Dee (the eldest pup) was doing “fine”. Allyn and Darren took this update and thought nothing more of it, because we entrust staff with our pets… we never expect that it could be a lie. On 09/14/2021, while still away from home, Allyn got a call that Suri had passed overnight- suffering and alone. They had isolated Kai and Dee from her, knowing they were sick… but still stood by their lie that she was “fine”. This is unacceptable and repulsive that the major corporation, PetSmart let this happen. 

Allyn and Darren took the first flight home to ensure the same fate wouldn’t happen to their other 2 boys….

 

Was PetSmart already housing other sick dogs? Was this facility extremely dirty? Did Suri pass due to negligent staff? Did they do something else to her?

 

They knew something was wrong, and ignored that fact. I know it. Pups don’t just pass overnight from kennel cough, someone saw something in the days leading up to Suri’s death. And did nothing.

 

Our hearts ache knowing that Suri died alone and in pain wondering where Allyn and Darren were, and only wanting to be comforted in her last minutes… knowing that she couldn’t even reach her 2 brothers- that had been locked away from her.

 

* We’re not going to let PetSmart get away with this… two other dogs died at the same time and same location. Something was wrong, something is wrong. They are covering up everything- they haven’t let Allyn or Darren see any camera footage. The staff have also barred them from seeing Suri’s body, and is returning her as ashes to them without a second thought.

 

They know something, someone saw something, someone did something. Whatever it is, they’re covering it up.

 

This has been a never ending nightmare, and something I never wish anyone has to suffer through.

 

Allyn and Darren are choosing to pursue legal action, however this is going to be a long journey, as they are taking on a huge corporation. We can stop this from happening in the future to more families, please share far and wide if you can.

* Update: Allyn has is pulling Suri’s body from Banfield (affiliated with PetSmart), and the vet that was doing the necropsy and barred them from seeing her body was under the assumption of, “We didn’t know you were back from your trip”. It went from only taking a “couple days”, to “up to 4 weeks”. They have been extremely dodgy and voiding all her phone calls, that she had to call from a different phone for them to pick up. Allyn has decided to find somewhere else, away from PetSmart and its’ affiliates- to do the necropsy. IF THEY DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO HIDE, WHY DO THIS?)
