JANES STORY:
GRAPHIC CONTENT: READER DISCRETION ADVISED. I am writing with profound grief to request the public's assistance in identifying any details surrounding the brutal torture, long term cruelty, and murder of a dog. On or about Monday, March 16, a witness noticed a dog's leg sticking out of a dumpster next to Copper Road Vet Clinic, on or near the property of Certified Auto. The witness went into the vet clinic to see whether anyone knew about the dead dog in the dumpster. Likely, the worst case of animal cruelty in Yukon history was discovered when the frozen body of a dog was removed from the dumpster. The dog was female, approximately six months to one year old (likely closer to one year, based on dental examination). She had healed scars all over her body, indicating long term abuse. She was the victim of severe blunt force trauma. There were numerous fractures throughout her body, including broken legs, arms and jaw. Her eyes were popped out of her head. Someone shot her at close range, with the bullet entering behind an ear and coming out the front of her head. There were multiple attempts to cut her legs off. One leg was completely severed from the body. She appeared to be a black lab, her body was mostly black with some brindle colouring on her chest. She was 26 kgs. She wore a black leather collar with some white on it. She had eaten a meal prior to enduring her final savage beating. She was not emaciated, meaning someone had been feeding her. The authorities have been contacted, and we hope an investigation is underway. If anyone has ANY information which could help us identify this dog, her family, or her murderer, please contact us or Bylaw Services. Perhaps there may have been surveillance cameras set up on or near this vicinity? You may provide details, no matter how small, anonymously. Please share this with everyone you know. The person or people responsible for this horrific brutality are sick. They need help, and to be held responsible, this dog deserves justice. Please don't be afraid to reach out. Do you know of someone who has had a female, black lab in the last year? We plan to contact the media to get the word out that there is an animal killer in our community. This begs the question of whether other animals are in immediate danger, and whether humans are going to be at risk in the future. We need swift and immediate action. Spread this message, and together we spread the word that this is not okay. Animals are not property!!!! They have a heart, a soul, a central nervous system. They feel pain. They are innocent and defenseless!! With your help, we may prevent other helpless animals from suffering. I will post a photo tomorrow that is not graphic, taken from angle which preserves the integrity of the dog. Once again, if you have any leads or details, please contact us at Konas Coalition by calling [phone redacted] or email us at [email redacted]. Or contact Bylaw directly! REST IN PEACE now, Jane Doe.
